Dogs often get bitten by snakes by accident, before the K-9 knows the snake is there, it has already struck. Most snakes in NC are not lethally poisonous to humans because we are much larger than dogs. But even a black snake bite to a small dog can cause swelling and infection. A poisonous snake like a copperhead could kill a dog.

Feline distemper is very serious and has a high death rate. It is very contagious and can be transmitted thru food bowls, litter boxes and many other methods of contact.
If you kitty has contracted Feline Distemper, it will vomit and have diarrhea severely.
Early diagnosis and treatment is the key to combating Feline Distemper. If you think your cat has come in contact with an infected cat, call a Vet immediately.
